Hal Calhoun
Managing Director Menlo Ventures
Hal joined Menlo Ventures in 2000. Prior to Menlo Ventures, he served as Senior Vice President of Product Marketing for ONI Systems, a leading optical networking equipment manufacturer. Previously, he held various market development positions in the Optical Networks division of Nortel Networks and was Senior Manager of Broadband Transport Planning at Fujitsu Network Communications. At Menlo, Hal focuses on early-stage communications companies. His recent investments and board seats include Movaz Networks, Parama Networks and Santur.
Hal is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology (B.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering), where his graduate work focused on photonic materials, devices and systems.

Patrick DiPietro
Managing General Partner

Pat joined VenGrowth in 2001, and has more than 29 years of experience in high technology.
Pat serves as a member of the board of directors of several VenGrowth investees, including Neterion (chairman), BelAir Networks, SiGe Semiconductor Inc., BTI Systems, Liquid Computing Corporation, Nakina Systems Inc. and is a former board member of Sandvine Inc., now a public company.
Before joining VenGrowth, Pat was a Vice President of 3G Wireless Systems at Nortel Networks. He previously occupied senior managerial roles in R&D and operations within Nortel and BNR. Pat has been responsible for product development and operations across wireless, optical, switching, and enterprise sectors and has launched several highly successful network products. Pat was also a founder of The Ottawa Network and a board member of OCRI, two non-for-profits focused on enabling the growth of local tech firms.
Pat holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University.

Leonid Grossman
Vice President of Software Engineering
Leonid has over 20 years of experience in networking software development and is one of the founders of Neterion, Inc., formerly S2io, Inc. He has worked for the last 16 years in Silicon Valley for Advanced Micro Devices, Alteon WebSystems, and Nortel Networks.
Prior to joining Neterion, as a software engineering manager with Alteon and Nortel-HPOCS, Leonid was responsible for software development for server and storage I/O products. In this role, Leonid defined the software design of these development activities and managed a team of local employees and offshore subcontractors.
Leonid holds 7 US software patents with additional applications pending. He has an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Moscow Petroleum University, an M.Sc in Computer Science from Moscow University of Physics, and an MBA from San Jose State University.

R. Douglas Norby
Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Tessera
R. Douglas Norby joined Tessera as chief financial officer and senior vice president in July 2003. An industry veteran with more than 35 years in the technology sector, Norby has held numerous executive management positions with such prominent companies as LSI Logic, Mentor Graphics and Syntex Corporation. Most recently, he was chief financial officer of Zambeel, Inc., a provider of enterprise-class network storage solutions. Norby has served on the boards of entertainment company Lucasfilm Ltd., where he was also president and chief operating officer, and Recordati, S.p.A., an Italian pharmaceutical company. He currently serves on three public company boards: LSI Logic, Alexion Pharmaceuticals, and STATS ChipPAC. Norby holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Dave Zabrowski
President and CEO of Neterion, Inc.
Dave Zabrowski has over 20 years of technology experience in businesses encompassing computer servers, PCs, semiconductors, and optical systems. He joined Neterion (formerly S2io) in 2002 as the first CEO and has led the company to an undisputed leadership position in the emerging 10 Gigabit Ethernet I/O controller market. Key customer announcements include OEM relationships with IBM, HP, Silicon Graphics and Cray as well as an alliance partnership with Sun.
Prior to Neterion, he spent 16 years with Hewlett Packard, most recently as Vice President and General Manager of HP's North American Business PC organization. In this role, he had P&L responsibility for a $2.5B business including server, PC and portable computing. Prior to this role, Dave held key General Management roles at HP for several early/emerging businesses including one which spun out of the company with a $2B market valuation. Prior to HP, his laser research work at McDonnell Douglas, now Boeing, was published in the Journal of Applied Physics. Over his career, he has gained significant cross functional expertise in sales, marketing, R&D, and operations.
Dave is also a board member of publicly traded software provider VantageMed. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from UCLA.
