The permanent standing Ethernet committee of the IEEE 802 standards body.

IEEE 802.3ae Task Force:
The group chartered by the IEEE 802.3 working group with writing the specification for 10 Gigabit Ethernet. IEEE 802.3ae is also the name of the document produced by the Task Force.

IEC/ISO 11801:
The international and European standard for building cabling.

ISCSI:
Enables servers and storage devices to communicate over IP and Ethernet networks. This technology is complementary to the Fibre Channel Protocol (FCP).

Lightweight Directory Application Protocol (LDAP):
A software protocol for enabling anyone to locate organizations, individuals, and other resources such as files and devices in a network, whether on the public Internet or on a corporate intranet.

MAC:
Media access control protocol.
